Sporting in Pot 1, Esch in Pot 2

Only two days after the Round 3 conclusion in the Men’s Challenge Cup the last 16 teams in the competition will learn names of their new hurdles as the draw will be carried out at the EHF Office in Vienna on Tuesday 29 November at 11:00 hrs local time.

The teams have been divided to two pots based on the competition's ranking system and there will be no country protection at the draw which means that two teams from Slovakia (MSK Povazska Bystrica from Pot 1 and MHK Sala from Pot 2) can meet each other in the next stage.

The 2010 Challenge Cup winners Sporting CP from Portugal will be drawn from Pot 1, while the 2013 runners-up Handball Esch are seeded in Pot 2 alongside their domestic Luxembourgish rivals HB Dudelange.

The draw will be streamed live on EHF’s Facebook page and there will be also a live ticker on www.eurohandball.com and live coverage on EHF’s Twitter.

First leg matches of the Last 16 will be played 18-19 February 2017, the reverse fixtures will follow one week later.
