Turda heading for quarter-final

Handball Esch (LUX) vs AHC Potaissa Turda (ROU) 27:32 (13:14)

Potaissa Turda are well on their way to the quarter-final of the Men’s Challenge Cup, after winning by four goals against hosts, Esch, who reached the final of the tournament in 2013.

The match had been moved forward before the rest of the matches in Last 16, which will start next weekend.

The first half was pretty equal, but it was the visitors who could take a one-goal lead with them to their locker room at the half time buzzer.

However, in the second half, Turda managed to increase their lead in the Centre Omnisport H. Schmitz in Esch.

In the end, the Romanian side earned a four-goal lead, which gives them an edge up ahead of the return match at home.

Right back Cristian Adomnicai became the top scorer for Turda with eight goals.

Centre back Christian Bock scored six times for Handball Esch.

The two teams meet again next Sunday in Romania.

Next weekend, the rest of the teams in the Last 16 will be in action.
