Defending champions in the group with the EHF Cup winners RostovThe reigning winners of the Women's EHF Champions League season Györi Audi ETO KC will enter the anniversary 25th season of the European top flight in Group B together with Rostov-Don, who are the current winners of the Women's EHF Cup. Two other teams in Group B are FC Midtjylland and the emerging French powerhouse Brest Bretagne Handball.
The draw at the Ljubljana castle on Friday determined all four groups of the group matches stage. The left wing of Krim Mercator Tamara Mavsar together with the EHF Competition Commission Chairman Bozidar Djurkovic carried out the draw. "It is a bit of deja vu for me," Tamas Szabo from Györ said after the draw referring to meeting Rostov and Midtjylland for the second time in as many seasons. "This is a sport and we still like it. In my opinion we received the toughest possible team from each group, nevertheless we are looking forward to the matches," Szabo added. Last season's runners-up HC Vardar will play against Larvik, Ferencvaros and the winner of the Qualification tournament 2. The first round of the matches will start on 8-10 October and the last will take place on 17-19 November.
