Plan B XP Sport Catalan claim first Arena 1000 title

The action-packed summer of beach handball in Europe continued this past weekend. As the 2017 World Games took place in Wroclaw, where Croatia claimed silver in the men’s competition and Spain won bronze in the women’s, five European Beach Tour 2017 events were held in five different countries.

At the Kikinda Open 2017 in Serbia, BHC Kikinda Boys won the men’s tournament ahead of BHC dzin i limunada in second and BHC lokal Owls. The women’s competition saw BHC Girl’s claim the trophy, with BHC Anna Maria finishing second and BHC Princess in third.

Spain’s Arena 1000 tour continued at Playa de la Victoria, Valencia from Friday to Sunday, where a total of 105 teams participated in various age categories, with 50 in the senior group. Salazones Herpac Barbate beat Palletways Veralia Azuqueca in the final to rank first in the men’s competition, while Plan B XP Sport Catalan claimed their first title of the summer when they defeated Llopis Sevilla Group in the women’s trophy match.

Though teams from 10 different nations participated in the VIII. Salgo Cup, the top spot in both the men’s and women’s tournaments were won by Hungarian sides. Multichem-Szentendrei N.K.E. ranked first in the women’s competition in front of Westsite Amsterdam and OVB Beach Girls. In the men’s event, Dinamit BHC won the title, with Salgótarjáni Strandépítok BHC finishing second and Chemo Profili Zagreb in third.

In the second stage of the HELLUS Beach Handball Tour 2017, Põlva Serviti finished on top of the men’s competition while Pro-Aktiivsed won the women’s tournament.

Serviti beat Värska Originaal 2:1 in the men’s final, and Viljandi HC 2 claimed third after beating Viljandi HC 1 with the same score in the 3/4 match. In the women’s competition Padise and SK Tapa ranked second and third, respectively.

The third edition of the HELLUS Beach Handball Tour 2017 will take place on Saturday at Lake Viljandi.
