ebt 2017 rankings finalised
The European Beach Tour 2017 wrapped up with the Kostolac Beach Tournament in Serbia played on Saturday. All points have now been verified following a total of 66 competitions played across Europe, beginning at the end of April through to the final whistle on August 12.
Dutch team Westsite Amsterdam are clear on top of the women’s table with 1139 points, ahead of Hungarian Multichem-Szentendrei N.K.E. and Spanish side grupo llopis bmp Sevilla equal on 1040.
Croatian Detono Zagreb sit in fourth place on 1016, while Polish squad KS Red Hot Czili Buk round out the top five with 989.
Table toppers Westsite Amsterdam gained their points at five different competitions in June and July: the VIII Salgo Cup in Hungary, Camelot Beachhandball Tournament 2017 and Amsterdam Beach Handball Tournament in the Netherlands, the PGNiG Summer Superliga tournament in Plock, and Karacho Beach Cup Münster 2017.
The first-ranked team on the men’s table after 66 competitions is Croatian side Chemo Profili Zagreb, on 1140 points. They finish the season in front of pinturas andalucia from Spain on 1080, who in turn are just one point ahead of Dutch TSHV Camelot on 1079.
Fourth and fifth position on the men’s table are occupied by Spanish sides CBMP Ciudad de Malaga and Palletways Verallia Azuqueca on 1049 and 1036 points, respectively.
Zagreb won the majority of their points at Croatian competitions, attending the Jarun Cup, the Zapresic Open, the Ivanic Open and the Zagreb Open. They also participated in the Calise Cup 2017 in Italy, Camelot Beachhandball Tournament 2017 in the Netherlands and the VIII Salgo Cup.
The ebt 2017 ranking will be used to determine the nominated participants for the ebt Finals next summer. The first eight nations, represented by their best club, have the first right to participate in the Finals.
