Former champions enter Women's EHF CupIn the 2015/16 season, DKKA Dunaujvaros won the Women's EHF Cup. Now, the Hungarian side are back in the tournament, entering it in Qualification Round 2 which starts this weekend. Dunaujvaros' opponents are Romanian CSM Roman who will try to do better than last season, where the second qualification round became the end of their European adventure.
Roman had no trouble with Bosnian HZRK Grude in the first round, but may be in for considerably heavier resistance when visiting the Sport Hall of Dunaujvaros Saturday afternoon at 16.00. The match will be live on ehftv.com. Cercle Dijon Bourgogne are receiving Kobenhavn Handbold who lost the Danish championship final against Nykøbing Falster last season. The two teams meet for the first leg in Palais des Sports JM Geoffroy Saturday night. Saturday afternoon, Silkeborg-Voel KFUM have the home advantage in the JYSK Arena of Silkeborg against E. S. Besancon Feminin.
Kastamonu Belediyesi GSK did not make it to the Group Matches of the Women's EHF Champions League, as the Turkish side were sent out of the qualification tournament in Kristiansand, Norway. Instead, Kastamonu have high ambitions in the EHF Cup. “Our objective in this tournament is the semi-final,” said head coach Hakan Günal, as his team had missed the Champions League qualification. For the time being, Kastamonu are entering the EHF Cup in the second round, where they are up against Super Amara Bera Bera. The Spanish team were in Champions League qualifiers last season and later, they reached the third qualification round of the EHF Cup.
In their attempt to do so again, they visit the Atatürk spor salonu of Kastamonu for the first match of a double-header Saturday and Sunday.

“This was just about the toughest opposition we could get in this round,” Buxtehude coach Dirk Leun told his club's website. This weekend, Viborg Stadionhal, where Viborg have celebrated so many triumphs in the past, will be the venue of a double-header between the Viborg team of today and European debutants NUR HC Mingachevir from Azerbaijan.
