Make some noise for a better world

In this year’s EHF European Championship, handball is about more than winning a title.

As an official sponsor of the Men’s EHF EURO 2018, Grundfos has decided to use the event in Croatia to create attention around the UN’s Global Sustainable Development Goals.

And Grundfos needs the media’s help to raise awareness to the greater public.

The UN has created 17 goals for sustainable development – and as a global leader in pump solutions and water technology, Grundfos cares particularly about goals 6 and 13.

Goal 6 is about providing clean water and sanitation for all, and goal 13 is about combating climate change, i.e. by supporting energy efficient solutions and mindsets.

“With the support of goals 6 and 13 in this tournament, we get to put extra focus on what really drives us as a company – sustainable development including the water agenda.

“Water is the foundation of Grundfos’ business and of all of our lives, and as the world faces a global water crisis, we are committed to being part of the solution. Our work with the Sustainable Development Goals 6 and 13 is part of that commitment”, said Kim Nøhr Skibsted, Group VP, Communication & Public Affairs.

Grundfos Match of the Day

Here is Grundfos‘ promise: Throughout the tournament, the company will donate money to support these global goals.

Each day of the EHF EURO there will be a special Grundfos Match of the Day. When the first goal 6 and goal 13 is scored in this dedicated Grundfos match a donation will be made. In short, Grundfos supports goals 6 and 13 – both the UN goals and the tournament goals.

Here is how it works: In cooperation with two NGO’s, Practical Action and Water Aid Grundfos have chosen four projects, which support the UN goals, and will randomly assign two projects per Grundfos Match of the Day, so all projects will receive the same amount of money, when the tournament is completed.

Download an overview of the four projects.

In total, Grundfos will donate more than €25,000 throughout the tournament.

Chance to win for fans

Handball fans following the event in Croatia have the chance to also join in with the ‘goal 6 & 13‘ campaign.

The company is offering the chance for fans to win two tickets to the EHF EURO final on 28 January in Zagreb.

Simply visit goal6and13.grundfos.com and guess which team is going to be the first score goal number 6 or goal number 13.

Help to tell the story

Grundfos‘ hope is that the media at EHF EURO 2018 will help tell the story and there by help create awareness about theUN’s Sustainable Development Goals. We are all losers if we do not take them seriously.
