Court of Handball suspends Vranjes for two matches

The Court of Handball has ruled upon a disciplinary case open following the behaviour of the player Vladimir Vranjes (BIH) during the 2019 Men’s World Championship Qualification Phase 1 match between Switzerland and Bosnia Herzegovina having taken place on 10 January 2018.

The player hit his opponent in the stomach while in a defensive position away from the ball and in a position unrelated to the course of the given action. The court found this behaviour as severely unsportsmanlike.

Hence, the player is suspended from the participation in EHF national team competitions for two matches and shall pay a fine of €500.

An appeal may be filed within seven days and shall not have any suspensive effect.
