Görbicz and Rémili earn April’s Player of the Month awards

The Women’s EHF FINAL4 in Budapest and the VELUX EHF FINAL4 in Cologne are now just around the corner.

So it is no surprise that the panel of experts summoned by the European Handball Federation awarded the EHF Player of the Month awards for April to two players who have put their stamp on the Champions League Quarter-finals.

Right back Nédim Rémili was instrumental to Paris Saint-Germain Handball’s third straight qualification for Cologne, while good-old Anita Görbicz has once again been a decisive factor as Györi Audi ETO KC stayed on course for what could become the first successful title defense in the Women’s EHF Champions League since the introduction of the FINAL4 format.

Görbicz keeps delivering when it matters

Görbicz might have retired from the Hungarian national team, on club level she remains a crucial ingredient to Györ coach Martin Ambros’ recipe for success.

Turning 35 next week, Görbicz has not lost any of her importance to the Hungarian side, even more now a remarkable number of their top players have been hit by - in some cases season-ending -  injuries.

Approaching the crunch time of the season, Györ will be relying on her once more.

And Görbicz keeps delivering when it matters. In the quarter-finals against Buducnost, she netted a stunning 19 times in total: eight in Györ’s all-important 26:20 away victory, and she reached even double digits (11) in the 30:28 home win that followed.

Rémili has worked his way up to become a key player

While PSG are looking more consistent than last season, Rémili has certainly found his role within the team.

In this form, Rémili promises to become one of the star attractions at his second VELUX EHF FINAL4 later this month.
