Skopje to welcome Men’s 20 EHF Championship

From 20 to 29 July, the Macedonian capital city of Skopje will play host to 11 young European men’s teams at the Men’s 20 EHF Championship - and fans can follow all the games for free and live on ehfTV.com. A live ticker for all matches is also available.

Playing format

Exactly one year ago, 11 participants were drawn into two preliminary round groups – group A featuring six teams and group B consisting of five teams.

In Skopje, each team will play each other once in the group stage, with games being played on 20, 21, 23, 24 and 26 July. The winners and runners-up of each group will then qualify directly into the semi-finals. Those teams finishing third and below go into cross matches and then placement matches.

The semi-finals are scheduled for 28 July, and then finals day will be the following day - 29 July.

The groups are:

Group A: Belarus (BLR), Faroe Islands (FAR), Finland (FIN), Greece (GRE), Estonia (EST), Lithuania (LTU)
Group B: Switzerland (SUI), Italy (ITA), FYR Macedonia (MKD), Ukraine (UKR), Great Britain (GBR)

All games will take place at the 6,200-capacity Boris Trajkovski Arena in Skopje. The arena hosted numerous games at the Women’s EHF EURO 2008, including the final, while last year, Skopje hosted the Women’s 17 EHF Championship.
