Decision released following breach of advertising regulations

The EHF Court of Handball has issued PGE Vive Kielce with a fine for not fulfilling its advertising obligations in the third round of the Men's EHF Champions League.

This follows a previous decision by the EHF Court of Handball released on 21 September 2018 as a result of infringements in the first round of the competition.

In a media statement issued on 2 October 2018, the EHF stated its position that it is the obligation of the EHF Marketing to protect the rights of the competition’s sponsors and partners and thereby the interests of all 28 participating clubs.

It was also underlined that individual club sponsors cannot be allowed to unduly influence the successful organisation and playing of the competition.

The EHF has proposed a meeting between EHF Marketing GmbH; PGE Vive Kielce and their sponsor PGE; Orlen Wisla Plock and their sponsor PKN Orlen; and Nord Stream 2 on Tuesday, 16 October 2018 in Vienna in order to find a solution that is in accordance with the competition’s regulations but also in the interests of all concerned.
