Leon keep playoff hopes alive with clear winAbanca Ademar Leon are currently second in Group D after their win at home against Riihimäen Cocks. Whether they remain there after the weekend will be decided on Sunday, when Elverum Handball and Dinamo Bucuresti meet.
GROUP D Ademar Leon now have 11 points from eight matches after their win on Saturday night over Riihimäen Cocks. Leon started with a few two-goal leads, but Cocks managed to hang on. After 13 minutes and nine seconds, Nico Rönnberg even earned the visitors the lead, as he made it 7:6. However, this turned out to be the only time the Finnish champions were in the lead. With five goals in a row, Leon went ahead 11:7. They maintained this margin for much of the rest of the first half, although Cocks scored the last two goals in the half. Leon left no doubt after the break, as they got seven goals up at 20:13 and later at 23:16. Cocks managed to put a gloss on the result by scoring the last four goals of the match.
