All-Danish clash in the Women's EHF Cup quarter-final
Two Danish clubs have been pitted against each other as the three-time Chamnpions League winners from Viborg HK will meet Nykøbing Falster Håndbold - NFH in the Women's EHF Cup 2018/19 Quarter-final. The draw at the EHF Office in Vienna has determined all four quarter-final pairings and also the semi-final fixtures. The 1995 Champions League winners HC Podravka Vegeta will face Herning-Ikast Handbold from Denmark and the winner of this pairing will lock horns with the better team from the tie between Russia's Kuban and another Danish side Team Esbjerg. Markus Glaser, EHF Chief Sports Officer together with Bozica Palcic from Podravka and Miklós Bitter from Siófok KC Hungary have conducted the draw in the EHF Office. "First of all, we are really glad we were able to make such a big step in the EHF Cup and reach the quarter-finals. In three weeks we will see whether we can go even further. We know Danish handball and the fact that they have four clubs in the quarter-finals here and another two in the Champions League main round spekas volume about their quality," Palcic commented.
Bitter from Siófok reacted on the draw result: "The team worked hard in the last month and we are very satisfied what we achieved in the group phase. Storhamar are one of the strongest teams in the competition and we have a great respect for them. Now, we need to prepare at 100 % and as every team here we try to reach the final, however we need to focus only on the next game first."
