NEWS REPORT: Three-time Champions League All-star right back Nora Mørk will play for CSM Bucuresti for the next two seasons

Mørk signs two-year contract with CSM

Ambitious CSM Bucuresti have added another superstar to the already formidable line-up, as right back Nora Mørk has confirmed that she signed a two-year contract with the Romanian side.

Due to a knee injury, the 27-year-old right back has not played since February 2018, but remains a prized asset in European handball. Her career highlights, including three Champions League titles and numerous individual awards, have transformed her into one of the most valuable players in the world.

“I am more motivated than ever to get back on the court, develop myself as a player and to continue my career with some of the best players in the world. I really have high hopes for this team and believe we can do great things together over the next seasons,” wrote Mørk in an Instagram post in which she confirmed the move.

When CSM Bucuresti won the Women’s EHF Champions League in their maiden season in 2015/16, all eyes were on the Romanian side to repeat the feat. However, CSM failed to build upon their success, and could not reach the final in the last two seasons.

But their ambitions have not changed, and they are constantly trying to recruit the best players in Europe. Two years ago, CSM convinced Cristina Neagu to come back to Romania; last season, it was Andrea Lekic’s turn to sign for the Romanian powerhouse.

Mørk has spent the past three seasons at Györ, where she won the Women’s EHF Champions League twice. She also won the top European competition with Larvik in 2011.

A three-time EHF EURO winner with Norway, Mørk is also a proven goal scorer, taking the top scorer crown at the EHF EURO 2016, 2016 Olympic Games and World Championship 2017.

Mørk will replace another Norwegian player, Amanda Kurtovic, in CSM’s lineup, as Kurtovic will leave for Györ this summer – meaning that CSM and the Hungarian side will essentially swap right backs.
