GOG can secure second place behind Kiel

GROUP D PREVIEW: The Danish side will finish runners-up if they win against Pulawy and Kiel have beaten Granollers in an earlier match Saturday

GOG can secure second place behind Kiel

After four rounds, THW Kiel have already been confirmed as the winners of Group D and the first participants of the AKQUINET EHF Cup Finals on home court on 17/18 May. The big question now is whether Granollers or GOG will finish second - and if the runners-up will make it to the quarter-finals or not.

As hosts Kiel are seeded through to the finals tournament, only three quarter-finals will be played, meaning the fourth-best runners-up from the group phase will not advance. Currently GOG are in this position.

If GOG beat Azoty-Pulawy on Saturday after Kiel have defeated Granollers, the Danish side will have secured second place. In any case, the duel between Granollers and GOG in the last round next weekend will decide if a team from Group D will make it to the quarter-finals.
