While CSKA had beaten RK Krim Mercator in a very tight fight on Saturday, fellow Russian team Rostov-Don faced a much easier task following their 29:20 win in the first-leg match against HC Podravka Vegeta. Rostov set new club records Rostov’s biggest win in the Europe’s premier club competition had been 38:21 against France’s Fleury Loiret Handball in the 2015/16 season, and 38 goals in that encounter had been their best scoring result.
