Three Scandinavian powerhouses and defending champions in medal fight

PARIS 2024: Three of the four EHF EURO 2022 semi-finalists have reached the Olympic Games medal round, and a new world record attendance has been set

History repeats in the women’s handball tournament at the 2024 Olympic Games: Three of the four EHF EURO 2022 semi-finalists, the same semi-final pairings as at the 2023 World Championship and three of four semi-finalists at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will fight for the medals. Three Scandinavian powerhouses — Norway, Sweden, Denmark — and the hosts, defending Olympic and world champions France, have qualified for the medal round from Tuesday’s quarter-finals.
