Danish rivals share spoils; Brest, FTC and Bistrita celebrate away wins

FTC-Toyota Kovács, Gloria Bistrita and Brest Bretagne Handball opened the EHF Champions League Women 2026/27 with away wins, while Nykøbing Falster Håndbold and Odense Håndbold shared the spoils


After months of waiting, round 1 of the EHF Champions League Women 2026/27 concluded on Sunday with three away teams taking wins, leaving those home sides empty-handed. FTC-Toyota Kovács proved too strong for OTP Group Buducnost, Gloria Bistrita beat HSG Blomberg-Lippe on their debut and Brest Bretagne Handball left no room for surprise against Sola HK. Odense Håndbold were challenged by Nykøbing Falster Håndbold in an all-Danish duel which ended with no winner after an exciting clash.
