The Serbian coach will take Skopje over for next season. The intention is to form a top team again.
Kometal GP Appoint Dragan Nisevic
The new coach of Kometal GP has been confirmed: the Serbian Dragan Nisevic will take the Macedonian champions and Champions League participant over.
The former CL winner Kometal GP was eliminated in the group stage this year, but they prepare to fight for the trophy again next year. The coach will be the first reinforcement, and in the next month several new players will arrive.
"We agreed with Kometal GP for next year. I'll take the team over from the beginning of May. Currently, together with the club management we are working on reinforcements,” said Nisevic.
Portnoy leaves
The club has terminated the contract of Ukrainian Andriy Portnoy, who left the team a month ago.
This is third time that Nisevic will work in Macedonia. He is the only coach who could ever beat Kometal GP in a domestic game. In 1994 he was the coach of Vardar Srem and they even won the Macedonian Cup. Later he worked for men’s club Pelister Bitola.
Nisevic returned once again to Vardar Vatrostalna. He took his team to the CWC semi-finals against Ademar Leon. In this period he was also coaching the Macedonian national team and played the World Championship in Egypt. His career started long ago, however. In 1988, he was already the coach of the women’s Olympic team of Yugoslavia, in Seoul.
