The Scandinavian teams met twice within a few days and played two very close matches. Both coaches are positive about their teams.
Viborg Defeat Larvik Again
Viborg and Larvik are preparing for the upcoming season in Bornholm, Denmark. The two teams met twice and after defeating Larvik HK 32-30 at the first test match of the two Scandinavian Champions League teams, Viborg HK won the second as well on Tuesday evening. The second encounter ended 25-24 after another equal match, where Viborg were leading 12-11 at half time.
Viborg were still missing the injured Lene Thomsen, Christina Varzaru and Krisine Lunde (out with a long injury), but the Danes were still able to beat Larvik, quarterfinalist last season just as Viborg.
“It was a fine test match, where Larvik managed to put a lot of pressure on us – and we got quite confused from time to time by their changing their defensive formation several times,” said Viborg’s assistant coach, Jacob Vestergaard.
Both coaches satisfied
In spite of losing against Viborg for the second time within a few days, Larvik coach Karl-Erik Bøhn was also happy after the game.
“We played a fantastic match where the entire team was outstanding. We were close to our best in all the positions,” said the Larvik coach, whose next task will be an away test match against another Norwegian team, Vikersund, on 29 August.
Viborg will play a Cup match away against Helsingør on Thursday night and a test match against a 1st division team, Skive, before the Danish league starts on 8 September away against SK Aarhus.
