Things not going well for Krim
The best Slovenian women's club, Krim Mercator, has many problems before the start of the new season. A new training approach and the hard work brought injuries as well.
The list of injured players is pretty long: Natasa Derepasko, Tatjane Alizar, Eszter Siti, Ljudmila Bodnjeva, Anja Argenti, Barbara Varlec, Anja Freser, Dijana Golubic.
“Alizar could just return in the goal after her injury, Derepasko played her first match in Vienna last weekend, Varlec still has problems after her operation, Freser has an old knee injury,” shared the gloomy news coach Bojan Cotar.
This weekend Krim will host a pre-season tournament where Podravka, Buducnost and Hypo are coming, but the coach of the Slovenian champions will have to arrange the game around younger players.
The new coach obviously brought many changes.
"Three players picked up injuries in August – Freser, Oder and Siti – so we modified our training program for them. I thought others did not have problems, but unfortunately later I found out that this was not true,” explains the coach of physical preparation, Matej Fabcic. He adds: “Obviously, the muscular of players was not prepared appropriately in the previous years. Now we have consequences."
Cotar told that because of all this they had to change the preparation plans and now they focus only on the Champions League. Today Krim are only at 60 percent level, they say...
