Russian Champion and Champion Trophy finalist Zvezda Zvenigorod will start their CL adventure in Nürnberg against the German Champions.

Trefilov’s team already showed a good form when they reached the final of the Champions Trophy when after defeating Slagelse. The final was won by the hosts, Oltchim Valcea at the end.

At this moment, Zvezda are on the top of Russian league table. In the last round they defeated Astrakhanochka with a great margin, 39:14 (19:3). The best scorers were Andryushina and Vyakhireva with six goals. Zvezda's goalkeeper, Saidova, also showed an impressive performance with 75% save efficiency.

Brave Nürnberg

Though the German champions lost their key players and they have a limited budget for the season, they are doing really well. Nürnberg are leading the German table with 18 points. Last round on Wednesday they played an away match against Thüringer. Müller's team won 31:29 (15:14) and the best scorer of Nürnberg was Ania Rösler with eight goals.

For this match Herbert Müller only has twelve players at his disposal. Nürnberg will have tough task against Zvezda who are clear favourites. But then again, there is no doubt that Germans will play with all their hearts and they can count on the support of their fans. Maybe a miracle can happen.

The Nürnberg vs Zvezda Zvenigorod game will be played on Saturday at 19.00. Hansen and Pettersen from Norway will direct the match, which will be live on Eurosport 2, RTR Sport and Franken TV.
