The two time CL winner Krim Mercator are saying goodbye to the Champions League after taking only one point against Sävehof in Ljubljana.
Another Krim nightmare
The Swedish side arrived in Ljubljana to take revenge for losing at home at the beginning of the group stage.
One thing is sure: Sävehof succeeded. The match in Ljubljana was full of mistakes on both sides, but most of them were made by Krim players.
"We played very badly in attack. Our back line was standing too far away from the goal," said Krim's coach Bojan Cotar. He added: "Only Maryna was in mood."
The last minutes were decisive when Krim had already 3 goals advantage, but after Maryna Vereglyuk was close guarded, Krim lost the plot.
The guests took a deserved point in the 5th round of the group stage.
"We wanted to make a difference but we could not. We wished to reach a good result, but did not succeed. With all the mistakes, the result is fair. We have been missing Liudmila Bodnieva, Anja Argenti and Ursa Oven all the season and the others are too young and inexperienced for such matches," said Tanja Oder after the match.
Two time European Champions can now say goodbye to Champions League and can only fight for Cup Winners' Cup.
