Győr solve biggest task
Győri Audi ETO hosted Oltchim Valcea and deservedly won after leading all the way.
The game started in a similar fashion to last week as Görbicz scored after stealing a ball. The Hungarian side played with great concentration in defence and it gave them an early 5-2 lead.
Romanian coach Tadici was forced to call a time-out immediately to organise his team. As he usually does, he kept on changing the tactics and the line-up, nevertheless, the difference continuously increased and it was already 13-7 in the 21th minute.
The Romanian side was apparently helpless: their usual weapon, fast breaks, did not work out. Dinu, who came in to replace Paslaru was not in better form.
On the other side, Pálinger was on her place in the critical moments and she was able to help her team out when they could not score.
Oltchim came closer in the last minute of the first half and it ended 16-13 for the Hungarians.
Tomori continued well in the second half. Her four goals before the break gave her a lot of confidence and she was unstopable in front of the Romanian goal. She added another four goals within 10 minutes.
The rest of Győr played with similarly great motivation, but it led to mistakes as well. Nevertheless, Győr were leading already by seven in the 44th minute.
Substitute goalkeeper of Győr, Orsolya Herr, came on only for the 7-m shots and saved three of them. However, this did not disturb Valcea that refused to give up. The third goal of Bese brought them back to 26-21.
Vérten scored her 8th goal and Pálinger continued to save in a sensational form. Győr were playing in great form and did not give a chance to for the guests.
30-27 was the end that gives a 3-point lead for Győr over Oltchim with a 100% record.
