Where dreams come true

Hypo coach, András Németh, talks about the form of his team and about the chances for the rest of the season.

Where dreams come true

There are two teams with a spotless record in women’s CL: Győri ETO and Hypo NÖ. Eurohandball.com talks to András Németh about the latest successes and the tasks ahead.

Key players: Oh, Tóth and PiedadeEurohandball.com: After beating Viborg by two goals at home, now you have beaten them convincingly by 27-32 away. How much do you think the injuries of the opponents influenced this result?

András Németh: We did not care about the problems of the opponent, we focused on our duties. We stepped on court with a determination to win again. I’m happy to say that our form has been improving steadily and this could be seen against Viborg. Though we have no top stars, we function well as a team.

Eurohandball.com: You have been preparing for the Champions Legaue games against Hungarian teams such as Derecske and Vác. What are your impressions about these games?

Németh: These are very useful matches as we can practice the tactics for the CL against these sides. I would like to thank both teams for travelling to us for the matches!

Eurohandball.com: Many predict a Győr vs Hypo final. What do you think about this?

The new Korean player, Myoung, is a valuable addition to the squadNémeth: I keep an eye on the Győr games and I think that there is a realistic chance that the team of Csaba Konkoly could play the final. The form of the team is convincing.

Eurohandball.com: It is also true about Hypo that they are in their best form for years.

Németh: The team reached the semi-finals last year as well, though they did not have an unbeaten record similar to this one. I have to admit that I would not have believed before that we would be able to win away games against teams such as Zvezda, Viborg or Slagelse.

In the Main Round our objective is to win the last two home games against Slagelse and Zvezda. I have to call the attention of my team at the match against Slagelse to take it seriously and focus on handball. In reality, we are the favourites of the game.

Eurohandball.com: And what about Erika Kirsner? She is left out of the Hungarian national team by the new coach.

Németh: It’s a good news that Kirsner is playing in an improving form. She scored four goals out of four attempts against Viborg’s world class goalkeeper, Lunde. I feel that she is on the right track.

Eurohandball.com: There are rumours that club manager Gunnar Prokop is ready to support the supporters financially...

Németh: That’s right. The club management has the intention to help the supporters get to the away matches without problems. The management are negotiating with the sponsors about it and I have the feeling that these dreams will come true. There’s a big difference respect to Hungary that dreams here usually come true.
