The Frenchman changed for Ciudad this summer and now he feels that he made the right decision.
New motivation for Fernandez
Jerome Fernandez took a very difficult decision this summer. What rarely happens in Spanish handball, the French international changed from one top club to another.
Fernandez changed the shirt of the historic Catalonian club for the biggest CL contenders: he left Barcelona after six seasons.
In fact, the relationship between the French and Barcelona coach Manuel Cadenas was not perfect and he preferred to leave.
This is all history now. The left back already made his debut in the CL against Bosna Sarajevo in the Quijote Arena last weekend. Fernandez played well, scored six goals and now he talks about his new experience:
“I am very happy. I made a few mistakes, but I think I showed a good performance at my first game in Ciudad Real,” Fernandez said.
Though the left back is 31, he found new motivations. He wants to keep playing on a top level:
“The game was a good feeling for me. It was a special sensation from the moment I stepped on court. And though I'm satistied, I hope to improve for the upcoming games,” Fernandez told after Ciudad’s victory against Bosna.
