The Slovenians are playing in an improving form and this weekend may be decisive in their group.
Cautious Krim prepare against Nürnberg
The fifth round of the Champions League can already decide who will qualify for the main round from Group D. Slovenian Krim Mercator are getting better and better.
After defeating Metz in France with great confidence and stamina, Krim's players were very happy.
"We had a magnificent defence against Metz. The first 45 minutes were on a high level, than our concentration failed. But at the end only our victory and two points count," said left back, Sanja Damjanović. The players already had to forget the previous match and started to prepare for the upcoming task.
On Saturday at 17.45, Krim will host Nürnberg. Only one point would be big step to qualify among the eight best teams.
"I was watching the match between Nürnberg and Viborg and I have to say that it was great handball: quick tempo, a lot of goals and determination on both sides. We will have to be very careful on Saturday," said the cautious Krim coach, Marta Bon. Krim already defeated the German team once this season, but the Slovenians remember the bad experience from last season.
Andrea Lekić is currently third on the top scorer list. She is sure to win:
"We know what our goals for this season are. We have to make it to the main round. I do not care how many times I score, I just want to progress to the next round. We will have to play 60 minutes full strength on Saturday because you know the German mentality."
Krim Mercator showed a great improvement in their form since the beginning of the season. Almost all players get the opportunity and they show development after a disastrous last season.
