Podravka defeat Hypo and win WRHL

First season of Women's Regional Handball League finished on Tuesday. Podravka Vegeta won the trophy after defeating Hypo 31:22 (15:10).

Decisive match for WRHL trophy was played in Koprivnica. Hypo arrived without Timea Toth and Sabine Englert. On the other side Maja Zebić did not play because of injury. Croatians immediately took the charge and started with aggressive defence which surprised Austrians.

Team of Zdravko Zovko dominated during entire match and at the end deservedly won with 31:22.

Best players of the match were goalkeepers. Paula Claudia Ungureanu saved 18 shots, same as Petra Blazek on other side. Aćimović was best scorer of the match with seven goals. Penezić and Todorovska scored six goals each.

This victory gives the first ever WRHL title to Podravke, Hypo take third place.

Penezić best scorer

Left back Andrea Penezić (Podravka Vegeta) is the best scorer of WRHL in 2008/2009. In 10 matches she scored 66 goals. Andrea Lekić (Krim Mercator) scored 60 goals and Ana Radović (Budućnost T-Mobile) scored 49.
