2010 Men’s European Championship Draw

The DRAW for the EHF Euro 2010 Final Round, which will be held from 19 to 31 January 2009 in Austria, took place in the Museum Liechtenstein in Vienna at 19:00hrs tonight.

The preliminary round and main round matches of the EHF Euro 2010 will be played in Graz, Innsbruck, Linz and Wr. Neustadt, the main round matches in Wien and Innsbruck and the Final Weekend in Wien.

The lots were drawn by three national team coaches preparing for the EURO 2010, Dagur Sigurdsson, Austria, Heiner Brand, Germany and Ulrik Wilbek, Denmark. Here are the results of the draw together with the assignment of the respective venues:

The preliminary round matches will be the following (groups A and B on 19, 21 and 23 January 2009, groups C and D on 19, 20 and 22 January 2009):

The detailed match schedule, with the individual match details and the exact playing times will be published by the EHF in the second half of July following the coordination of TV requirements.

The teams ranked 1 to 3 in each group qualify for the main round. The results from the matches against teams which also qualify for the main round remain valid for the ranking of the main round.

Each team in the main round plays against each team which qualified from the parallel group.
