The Croatian international is a major reinforcement for Krim Ljubljana.
Franić aims semi-final with Krim
Croatian back is Krims top reinforcement for this season. Born in 1987 in Split, she already gathered valuable experience playing in Podravka Vegeta and Croatian national team.
After six years spent in Koprivnica, Kristina Franić has now signed for Krim Ljubljana, team of the of Slovenian capital. The 1,79 tall back is satisfied with her new environment:
“I am getting to know Ljubljana better together with my roommate Jelena Grubišić. We were both welcomed here in the best possible way. Croatian and Slovenian are very similar languages and we also have Sanja Damnjanović and Andrea Lekić to translate for us.”
Despite her youth, 22-year old, she has many goals for this season:
“There are many young players in our team and together with some experienced players we can do a lot this season. Our goal is to reach the CL semi-finals. We are aware how hard it will be to get there, but it is just additional motivation for us to work harder. Many new players arrived so we must get to know each other and work hard to become good team.”
The Croatian international has good opinion about her new coach:
“We have excellent communication with Marta Bon and I think it will be very important for our future achievements – we all need to act as one.”
Although she can play on all three back positions, her favourite role is middle back. Together, with many high profiles in team of Krim Mercator, Franić may be one of the top stars of the next edition of the women’s CL.
