Kiel win "Schlecker Cup“

For tthe seventh time in the club's history, German record champion and last season’s CL finalist THW Kiel won the "Schlecker Cup“ tournament in Ehingen, Germany.

THW have beaten Croatian champion RK Zagreb in the final by 30:27 after Croatian halftime lead (17:14). Kiril Lazarov scored eight goals for Zagreb missing their top star Ivano Balic. Kim Andersson and Momir Illic scored seven goals for Kiel in the final.

In the preliminary round both finalists won both their matches. Kiel have beaten Valladolid 42:28 and Veszprém 35:34; Zagreb won against Kopenhagen 29:27 and Lemgo 25:23.

Veszprém ranked third after beating FCK for the bronze by 34:27. Lemgo came in fifth by beating Valladolid 30:26.

Momir Illic (Kiel) was awarded best player of the tournament.
