W17 & W19 ECh – complete analysis available

The summer of 2009 saw two Youth European Championships, both for women. The Women’s 17 ECh took place in Serbia on 25 June-5 July and the winner of the competition was Denmark. Another Nordic top team, Norway, won the Women’s 19 ECh played on 14-23 August in Hungary.

These are the basic facts that handball fans remember. However, a deeper anaylsis began just as the competitions came to an end. As it is always the case after major European competitions, the EHF requested analysis from handball experts who went into details after watching all the games of the tournament.

With a few weeks after the competitions, both the qualitative and the quantitative analysis have been published.

On the Activities website, a wide array of statistical reports are available: individual player stats, match and team statistics.

The trends and development in women’s youth handball were described by the qualitative analysis. The W17 was investigated by MC member Jerzy Eliasz, the W19 by EHF lecturer Tamás Neukum. You can download the studies with their findings from the Activities website.
