Disciplinary procedure initiated

The EHF Arbitration Tribunal will deal with the incident that occurred during the EHF Women’s Champions League game between Hypo Niederösterreich and Metz Handball. The game ended in a 27-27 draw on 29.10.2009.

With four seconds from the end of the game, the referees punished the team official of Hypo Niederösterreich, Gunnar Prokop, with a direct red card for an act of serious unsportsmanlike conduct. Mr. Prokop entered the court and directly interfered with the game by stopping a fast counterattack of Metz HB.

A decision by the EHF Arbitration Tribunal can be expected in due time, prior to the next game of Hypo Niederösterreich in the EHF CL against RK Krim Mercator on 08.11.2009.
