RK Krim Mercator feel a lack in physique. Still they want to defeat Metz Handball in the EHF Women's Champions League.
Out of form Krim still aim for victory
RK Krim Mercator already have their ticket for the Champions League Main Round reserved. So there are no worries in Ljubljana before fifth round match against Metz.
Together with her team of experts Coach Marta Bon analyzed their four victories. Relaxed after their easy progress to the Main Round, the team’s trainings were adapted. The Slovenian champions were mainly working on physical strength in the last month.
"It is obvious that we aren’t in a top form. We achieved our first goal so early, we focused on other things during the last weeks and days," Bon said to eurohandball.com. She agreed that the other teams, still fighting for Main Round tickets in the last two rounds were in better shape. That includes Krim's Saturday's opponent, Metz Handball.
"I respect Metz very much. I respect French handball in general, the players who played at the World Championship in China and of course I respect Metz because we had bad experience with them," Krim’s coach stresses three things out.
Although Krim are already advanced, they are planning a victory in Ljubljana. "For sure we want to win, especially in front of our fans," says Liudmila Bodnieva and adds: "We might not be in top form but we will do everything to defeat Metz. We know how important every win is."
On Monday Krim lost 26:37 against Budućnost in the Womens' Regional Handball League.
