Administrative decision on a Cup Winners’ Cup game

The result of the Men's Cup Winners’ Cup Round 4 (1st leg) match between Steaua MFA Bucuresti (ROU) and HC Portovik Yuzhny (UKR) was changed to 10:0 in favour of Steaua MFA Bucuresti.

The EHF discovered irregularity at the game played on 13.02.10 in Chiajna, Romania. The player of the visiting team, Andrii Abramov, was not eligible to take part. In fact, the player was transferred to an Iranian club in December 2009 and transferred back on 27 January 2010, but HC Portovik Yuzhny failed to nominate the player through a late entry.

Following the first instance administrative decision, the case will be handed over to the EHF Arbitration Tribunal for consideration.

The club HC Portovik Yuzhny has the right to appeal within three days to the EHF Artbitration Tribunal. The 2nd leg will be played in Yuzhny on 20.02.10.
