FCK Håndbold ladies with new clubs

Norwegian international Linn-Kristin Rieglhuth is returning to Norwegian champions Larvik HK after just one season with Danish Champions League participants FCK Håndbold.

FCK Håndbold, who did not make it any further than to the Group Phase of the Women’s Champions League this season and will cease to exist after the season Therefore Riegelhuth is now returning to Larvik, with whom she has signed a three year contract.

Her fiancé, pivot and also Norwegian international Einar Sand Koren has played for FCK’s men’s team this past season, and reached the round of the Last 16, but as the men’s team of the Copenhagen based club will also end its existence after this season, he has also been looking for a new club. In Koren’s case, the choice has become Norwegian league club Haslum.

"We had several offers and opportunities, but Larvik and Haslum seemed to be the best solution, regarding the conditions on and off the court, and our chances to study. Of course it is sad that FCK Håndbold close down, but we are both looking forward to coming home and playing for Larvik and Haslum, which are two good sides with a lot of ambition and good training environments," 25 year old Riegelhuth said.

Larvik, who reached the semi-finals of this season’s EHF Champions League, have already signed two other top backcourt players for next season, as Gro Hammerseng and Katja Nyberg are both joining from Danish league team FC Midtjylland Håndbold.

Krause back to Germany

Former World handball Player of the Year, German Nadine Krause, will also leave FCK after this season. The 28 year old left back will join the German club Provital Blomberg-Lippe on a one year contract.

"The club is very ambitious and I like to return to Germany after three years in Denmark. Blomberg had the ‘right package’ for me, as I could choose between several offers from clubs in different nations," Krause said.

She played for Blomberg from 1999 to 2001, before she went to Leverkusen and FCK. Blomberg currently reached the semi-finals in the German championship play-offs and the German cup final four.

Currently Krause is still in rehab after a shoulder operation in November. "I will be fit right for the start of the preparations in Blomberg," she told eurohandball.com.
