EHF FINAL4 supports fight against cancer

Social partner of the EHF FINAL4, Deutsche Krebshilfe, the German cancer charity were presented with a cheque for 15,000 EUR during the final match of the EHF FINAL4 between FC Barcelona Borges and THW Kiel.

Peter Vargo, Managing Director of EHF Marketing GmbH, who presented the cheque to Gerd Nettekoven, Managing Director of Deutsche Krebshilfe during the half time break, commented: “We are proud to be able to support the Deutsche Krebshilfe, their efforts to support cancer patients and the treatment of this disease.”

Handball fans visiting the LANXESS arena over the weekend also contributed over 1000 EUR to the charity.

Gerd Nettekoven said: “The generous donation by the EHF and handball fans will help us to improve the care of cancer patients and to push forward research into the disease.”

450,000 people are newly diagnosed with cancer every year in Germany and 210,000 lose their life each year to cancer. The Deutsche Krebshilfe has been active in the fight against cancer since 1974.
