VELUX EHF FINAL4 tickets in demand

Only three days since the launch of ticket sales for the second edition of the VELUX EHF Men’s Champions League FINAL4, organisers are reporting a big interest in tickets for the event. 7000 tickets have already been sold via the VELUX EHF FINAL4 Ticket Shop and direct from the LANXESS arena in Cologne.

EHF Marketing Managing Director, Peter Vargo, said: “We knew that there would be a lot of demand for tickets following the spectacular success of last season’s event, but the rate of ticket sales has surprised even us. In the last few days we’ve seen a huge increase in traffic on our website with fans from across Europe looking to secure their place in the LANXESS arena.”

Tickets in all price categories as well as VIP Tickets were released on Wednesday 8 September for purchase via the ehfFINAL4.com website and the Ticket Hotline at +49 221 280 288.

Peter Vargo continued: “We’re already seeing a lot of demand for seats closest to the action so fans need to act quickly if they want to book their tickets and secure the best seats in the house.”

The good news for handball fans is that ticket prices have not been increased in the second year of the event. Tickets range from 200€ in Category 1 to 50€ in Category 4 and include both days of the event and all four matches. Semi-finals will be played on Saturday 28 May 2011 and the match for third/fourth place and VELUX EHF Champions League Final on Sunday 29 May 2011.

With a mix of entertainment and top-class handball action, the VELUX EHF Champions League FINAL4 is a unique event in the European handball calendar, as the best four teams in Europe meet in one venue, over two days to decide the winner of the ultimate prize in European club handball. The first edition in May 2010 was described by the media as the best handball event for 20 years.
