Group 2 in Patras (GRE) saw 2007/08 EHF Champions League winners Zvezda Zvenigorod (RUS) defeat all of their opponents and thus qualifying for Group D of the Women’s EHF Champions League. The Russians will play against Györi AUDI ETO KC (HUN), RK Krim (SLO) and HC Podravka Vegeta (CRO).

In Group 3, IK Sävehof (SWE) made their way into the Women’s EHF Champions League from a starting point in Qualification Tournament 1 for the second time after 2007/08. In Skopje, already their first match victory over Byåsen opened the door to Group A of the Women’s EHF Champions League. The Swedes will now meet reigning champions Viborg HK (DEN), Dinamo Volgograd (RUS) and Buducnost (MNE).
