Podravka strengthen defence

Coach Neven Hrupec decided to sign a new player for his team of ŽRK Podravka Vegeta. The squad will be reinforced with left back Dina Havić from ŽRK Arena Pula.

The 23-year-old has experience from the Spanish league, where she improved a lot. This was one of the reasons why the new Croatian national team coach Vladimir Canjuga called her to join the team.

In their recent tournament, the Croatia Cup, Havić played an important role, proving that she belongs to the Croatian national team.

Her new team from Koprivnica wanted to sign Havić for a long time. The Rijeka-born player will be very useful, especially in Podravka's defence.

"Dina Havić is a tall, strong, and explosive player who can play on both left back and middle back position. But the most important thing for us will be her first-class defensive skills in both 6-0 and 5-1 systems," said coach Neven Hrupec.

The Croatian international will not be able to help her new club in the Group Matches of the EHF Champions League anymore. But she might be able to next year – if Podravka qualifies for the Main Round.
