RK Cimos Koper are fined following shortcomings in the Men's Challenge Cup final.

EHF Arbitration Tribunal  decision

The EHF Arbitration Tribunal looked into the matter of organisational shortcomings at the second leg final of the 2010/2011 EHF Men’s Challenge Cup, played in Koper, Slovenia, on 22 May 2011.

The EHF disciplinary body found that the organisers of the game, RK Cimos Koper, failed to comply with the 2010/2011 EHF European Cup Regulations regarding floor requirements. The playing court of the hall hosting the game was covered by various sports line systems.

The EHF Arbitration Tribunal made the decision that the Slovenian club shall pay a fine of 2,000 EUR.

500 EUR of this monetary fine are imposed on a suspended basis with a probation period of two years. The sanction was defined taking in consideration the following mitigating circumstances:

RK Cimos Koper had never been sanctioned before by the EHF for any infringement of this kind since its first participation in EHF competitions.

RK Cimos Koper followed all EHF delegate’s instructions and made its utmost to present a floor compliant with the EHF Regulations for the game by covering all non-handball lines.

Right to appeal

In line with the EHF Arbitration Regulations, a statement of claim may be filed at the EHF Court of Arbitration within 21 days.
