EHF Marketing announces TV deal in Ireland

European Handball Federation (EHF) and the marketing arm of the EHF, EHF Marketing GmbH, have announced a one-year deal to show the VELUX EHF Champions League in the Irish market.

The agreement, with Setanta Ireland, will see the TV station show every ‘Match of the Week’ on Setanta Ireland or Setanta Sport 1, all magazine reports and the highlight of the European club handball season, the VELUX EHF FINAL4 at the LANXESS arena, Cologne from 26-27 May 2012.

The new deal follows on from the success of last season when Setanta Ireland showed the VELUX EHF FINAL4.

The games will be shown on both Setanta Ireland and the subscription channel Setanta Sports 1 with the deal completed in time for this weekend when Setanta have their ‘free view’ trial with up to 700,000 potential viewers able to watch the top class action for free.

Trevor Twamley, Head of Sales, Setanta Ireland said: "The VELUX EHF Champions League is sport and entertainment at a very high level and with this new contract we can continue bringing the very best sporting action from around the world direct to our TV and web viewers.”
