EHF teams up with internationally-renowned academic and sporting partners.

EHF - MESGO partnership announced

The EHF has joined forces with the European team sport federations UEFA, FIBA-Europe, CEV, FIRA-AER and IIHF to offer the ‘Executive Master in European Sport Governance’ (MESGO) which provides the vocational opportunity for key stakeholders of European sport to come together to analyse and consider the characteristics and challenges it faces and to discuss measures that could be put in place to ensure its future prosperity.

The MESGO involves partnerships with renowned international academic partners - Birkbeck Sports Business Centre, Birkbeck College; University of London; Centre du Droit et d’Economie du Sport, Université de Limoges; Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz; Institut Nacional d’ Educació Físicia de Catalunya, University of Lleida and the Science Po Paris – who are all specialised in the legal, political or economic sports fields to offer the programme.

The MESGO programme is designed for experienced managers and executives working in international, European and national federations; clubs, leagues and trade unions; European institutions and governments and partners of sports organisations (such as media, sponsors etc).

With an emphasis on the European dimension, the programme takes a multidisciplinary approach with an in-depth analysis of legal, political and economic issues (e.g. competition law, litigation prevention, risk management, regulation and media policy).

The focus throughout the programme is on the current and future key challenges faced by sports organisations (specificity of sport, competitive balance, exploitation of commercial rights, social dialogue, violence, doping, social responsibility, etc.) and it offers an ideal opportunity for international networking and interaction with those involved in the same industry.

The MESGO programme starts in September 2012, with the application period open from 1 January to 15 April, 2012.

To highlight the international aspect of the programme, it will commence in Paris in September 2012 before moving to Lausanne and Geneva, before taking in London, Brussels, Paris again, Barcelona, Manz and Frankfurt, New York and ending in Nyon in Switzerland in January 2014.

Please find more information and the application procedure relating to the 2013 programme HERE and the list of the first course attendees HERE.
