The goals are the same size in Palau

Four Icelandic players are part of the AG Kobenhavn squad: team captain Arnor Atlasson, four times EHF Champions league winner and right back Olafur Stefansson, play maker Snorri Gudjonsson and left wing Gudjon Valur Sigurdsson (32). Together with Stefansson, he was part of the VELUX EHF FINAL4 in Cologne with Rhein Neckar Löwen - and they are hoping to repeat this journey with the Danish champions. After the 29:23 victory in the first leg of the quarter finals hopes are high at AGK.

After ten years in Germany he transferred to Kobenhavn before this season but will join THW Kiel for next season. But before that move, it is his biggest wish to reach the VELUX EHF FINAL4. In this interview with ehfCL.com Gudjon Valur Sigurdsson talks about Cologne, Barcelona (where AGK face the defending champions on Saturday, 20:00 hrs local time) and Kobenhavn.

ehfCL.com: You went to Cologne with Löwen last season. What would it mean to you to get there again?
Gudjon Valur Sigurdsson: Regardless of what happened last season I am a player of AG Kobenhavn and I want to reach VELUX EHF FINAL4 with my club and teammates.

ehfCL.com: Are six goals enough to stand the power of Barcelona in Palau Blaugrana?
Gudjon Valur Sigurdsson: I do not know now, we will see on Saturday.

ehfCL.com: You know how it feels to win at Barca, as you clashed them at Palau with Löwen last season. What will be the keys to success there?
Gudjon Valur Sigurdsson: The keys are the same as in the first game: Great defence and goalkeeper, fast breaks and to play clever in attack.

ehfCL.com: In Parken AGK's defence was outstanding - is it possible to repeat such a performance?
Gudjon Valur Sigurdsson: Of course, it was not the first time that we defended well this season.

ehfCL.com: Do you feel any ‘magic’ in playing at Barcelona?
Gudjon Valur Sigurdsson: Barcelona is a big club but the playing field and goals will be the same size as they are here in Denmark.
