Romanian champions to build dream team for the next season.
Barbosa completes Oltchim’s dream
Oltchim Râmnicu Vâlcea is slowly building the greatest team in the club’s history. This week, the Romanian champions have signed Alexandrina Barbosa, Grupo Asfi Itxako Navarra’s top goalscorer.
Barbosa is Oltchim’s third big transfer in this spring, after the Romanian champions convinced French duo Allison Pineau and Amandine Leynaud to sign one-year contracts in March.
The Portuguese player, who will turn 26 on the 5th of May, has been on Oltchim’s radar for almost three years. She has already played in Romania three seasons ago, making a great impact at Rulmentul Brasov. Barbosa is a proven goalscorer, who managed to score 84 goals during last year’s EHF Women’s Champions League and 78 goals during this season’s competition.
“I am excited to be back in Romania. Oltchim is a well-known club in Europe and we will be a contender for next year’s EHF Women’s Champions League. I was contacted by several clubs, but I chose Oltchim because I know the players and I want to win trophies”, said Barbosa after she signed with the Romanian champions.
As were the cases for Leynaud and Pineau, Barbosa signed a one-year contract with Oltchim.
