Successful dress rehearsal for German league and cup champions
Kiel hungry and ready for VELUX EHF FINAL4
THW continued their impressive series of success on domestic level with a 38:34 (21:17) away victory against last season’s German champions, HSV Hamburg.
For THW it was the 30th victory in their 30th league match in this season. They have already won the German championship and the German Cup – now they are looking to add the VELUX EHF Champions League title for the third time after 2007 and 2010.
The match in Hamburg was another dominant THW show.
Momir Ilic and Kim Andersson each scored eight goals in this one-sided game. Kiel were ahead with six goals and decided the match early.
“This victory was a huge step to finish the season with a clear sheet,” THW coach Alfred Gislason said.
“The result is good, but the way we play currently is even more impressive,” Filip Jicha added.
The second German VELUX EHF FINAL4 participant Füchse Berlin remain in third place in the Bundesliga below Kiel and Flensburg but three points ahead of Hamburg after a 35:19 victory against Großwallstadt.
