Bošković: "We all believed in this success"
Predrag Bošković became President of Budućnost in December 2006. Half a year later, at the before the beginning of the new season, he gave interviews where he admitted that the plan of the new club management would be to win the EHF Women's Champions League within three-five years.
Now, that plan is completed.
"We all believed in this success and hoped that we could do it," he said, following the Budućnost victory against Györi AUDI ETO KC on Sunday (13 May).
"In the end we deservedly won the trophy and we will celebrate before the national team start to prepare for the London 2012 Olympic qualifying tournament in Lyon," said Bošković, who is also President of the Handball Federation of Montenegro.
“I really wanted to win the EHF Women's Champions League trophy, and then qualify for the Olympics, in order to complete my work in Budućnost and the Handball Federation of Montenegro", added Bošković.
"The first part of the dream came true and for all generations of Budućnost, the club who existed prior to this generation I am convinced it will exist after it".
"This is one of the few clubs who last so much on the handball map of Europe," he continued. "It’s not a merit of today’s Budućnost, but also of many other people, such as dearly-missed Dušan Đurišić, Rade-Biljo Đuričković, Rade Đurđić, Budimir Stanišić, Miodrag Ivanović, Branimir Gvozdenović, Blagota Mitrić...they all have contributed to take Budućnost to the position where it is now.
"Of course, I don’t neglect the coaches and players who have been a part of Budućnost for all these years, but this generation had the honour to raise the trophy, Budućnost existed before Bojana Popović and I and will continue to exist after both of us”.
“The point is that Budućnost must be refreshed for the next season, and we will see how it will work out when we finish making our team in August. Then we will know what our goals for next season."
