Exactly two weeks before the start of the new season of the VELUX EHF Champions League
All club managers meet at workshop
The representatives of all 24 participants of the VELUX EHF Champions League 2012/13 met in Vienna on Thursday, just two weeks before the start of the new season. Compared to the last season only four new clubs are entering the 20th edition of the most prestigous club competition in Europe and all newcomers already have a previous experience with the VELUX EHF Champions League.
The clubs were provided the information on the regulations by the staff of the EHF and EHF Marketing with a special attention to a new corporate identity with a new three-coloured star logo.
Furthermore, the clubs managers received the guidelines for TV and media matters with an interesting opportunity to show the highlights of their home and away matches on their own websites. The new project of the 3rd party video player will be operated by ehftv.com in a cooperation with the internet streaming company LAOLA1.
The clubs were also given the information about the booking procedure of the VELUX EHF FINAL4 tickets for their fans, sponsors and VIPs.
The new season will be played exactly in the same format as the previous one, the only difference in the competition´s rules is the possibility for coaches to take three time-outs per match, however, only one in the last five minutes of the match.
Four matches will open the new season on Thursday 27 October - Chekhovskie Medvedi (RUS) vs. RK Partizan (SRB), SG Flensburg-Handewitt (GER) vs. Montpellier Agglomeration (FRA), IK Sävehof (SWE) vs. HCM Constanta (ROU) and Kadetten Schaffhausen (SUI) vs. FC Barcelona Intersport (ESP).
