Bulatović stays, Radović leaves national team

There was good news and bad news for Montenegro's women's handball team on Monday (October 1) night. After head coach Dragan Adžić had spoken with Katarina Bulatović (both pictured right), he could confirm that the star right back will continue playing for Montenegro, even though she had announced the end of her career in the national team after the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

"Katarina expressed a desire to continue playing for the national team. She has a motive to do so and her commitment to the national jersey has never been disputed. So, she will be a leader of this generation for the next four years, with God’s will till the (2016) Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro”, Adžić said.

However, Katarina Bulatović will miss the two friendly games in Ohrid against FYR Macedonia (on 4 and 5 October) due to a left foot injury.

“She has problems with the Achilles tendon, the problem we know all about, because that injury was treated by us in Podgorica. Therefore, for this action, she will work apart,” added Adžić.

Unlike Bulatović, Ana Radović announced that she won't be playing for the national team anymore.

Bojana Popović on preliminary player’s list for EHF EURO 2012

Dragan Adžić also announced a preliminary list of 28 players for the Women's EHF EURO 2012 in Serbia. Bojana Popović (pictured right), who decided to retire after the Olympic Games, appears on that list.

She didn’t change her mind, she became a sports director of Budućnost, but Adžić still hopes she will accept the invitation to play at the EHF EURO 2012.

“Bojana, for now, is just on the list. She is not even training. Her will and desire will decide whether she will join the team or not," Adžić said.

There are several new names on the list, especially younger players such as Katarina Perović, Olivera Vukčević, Andrea Klikovac and Jelena Despotović, while Sanja Premović was already on the preliminary list for the World Cup in Brazil.

After almost five years of absence, Nataša Krnić, new player of Polish champions Vistal Laczpol Gdynia is back in national team. It's the first time she got nominated since the qualifications for the EHF EURO 2008 in FYR Macedonia.
