Finland top the table after second win

After Greece and Estonia had won their respective second matches of the EHF EURO 2016 qualification, Finland followed by winning 26:21 in Cyprus on Sunday.

The Finnish team, coached by legendary Mikael Källman, had beaten Luxemburg 28:21 in their opener and top the table of Group A now ahead of their two opponents with a clean record.

Antti Vola scored nine times for the victorious team, which had been in lead by 13:7 at the break thanks to five unanswered goals after the score had stood at 8:7.

Julios Argyrou was the top scorer for Cyprus with seven goals, his team improved after the break but could not threaten the Scandinavians even when they had reduced the gap to 18:21, before the Finnish team decided the match latest at the score of 25:21.

The EHF EURO 2016 qualification will continue with two match days in April 2013.
